At Pixologic we often say that ZBrush is a tool by artists, for artists. Would you agree with that?

Yes, because they asked me what I need and what I would like to see as an artist, and they listened! When I decided to get out of practical effects and do just character design and digital sculpting, I was banking on ZBrush. I was abandoning years of practical art and practical experience for a relatively new (at the time) piece of software. I could see the potential in the program. Thank God they saw that same potential in me and asked if I would beta test for them!

ZBrush is an invaluable tool in making my artwork! Thank you, ZBrush. I would kiss you, but you haven't shaved. (Laughter)

If you were giving advice to someone wanting to become a concept artist in today's world, what would you say?

Keep learning. Keep changing. If you want to work all the time, don't make your personal style too pronounced. Leave room for something new or unexpected to happen. Be aware of what styles are out there and current. Pick at them but don't copy them. The current style will change and if that is what you are known for, you will be out of style and out of work.

Ironically I think the most important thing is to learn to communicate you ideas in words and not just pictures. It will change your life!!

Is there anything else you'd like to cover while you've got our attention?

Yeah, I am going to do some new DVD tutorials this summer and I would love to hear what people think I should do then on. Any ideas?
