Duplicating SubTools
- Select the subtool you want to duplicate
- Press Tool:Clone
- Press Tool:SubTools:Append
- Select the cloned tool from the pop-up window
- Select the newly appended SubTool and reposition or sculpt as needed
Mirroring SubTools
- Select the subtool you want to mirror
- Press Tool:Clone
- Press Tool:SubTools:Append
- Select the cloned tool from the pop-up window
- Select the newly appended SubTool
- Press Tool:Deformation:Mirror
Make sure that you have the correct axis selected in the mirror button. Choose either X, Y or Z.
If you have multiple subdivision levels and get an error when you mirror,
- Go to the highest subdivision level and delete lower
- Press Tool:Deformation:Mirror
- Now Reconstruct SubDiv back down to the original level.
Mirroring SubTools With Morph Difference
This option only works with models that do not have multiple subdivision levels. However, you can perform this action at the highest subdivision level and then Reconstruct SubDiv.
- Select your model
- Hide the half of your model you don't need by pressing CTRL+SHIFT and dragging a rectangle around the side that you want to keep.
- Drag a mask around the visible part of the model to prevent softening
- Press Tool:Geometry:Delete Hidden
- Press Tool:Morph Target:StoreMT
- Mirror the model to the other side by pressing Tool:Deformation:Mirror. Remember to choose the correct axis on the mirror button.
- Create the new mirrored tool by pressing Tool:Morph Target:CreateDiff
- Select the new mirrored tool in the Tool palette.
Combining SubTools
Before combining subtools be sure that your computer will be able to cope with the polycount of the combined mesh. This must not be greater than the maximum for your system.
- Save a copy of your ztool so that you can retrieve it if necessary.
- Selecting the primary subtool, switch to the highest subdivision level and then delete the lower levels. [Geometry subpalette]
- Press Tool>Clone to create a copy of the subtool.
- Repeat steps (2) and (3) for all subtools.
- Select the clone of your primary subtool. Then press Insert Mesh in the Geometry subpalette and select the first of your subtools from the popup. It is added to the mesh.
- Repeat step (5) until all subtools have been inserted.
