Sculpting A Skull Steps 1 & 2
By Ryan Kingslien in Sculptor's Notebook | 6 comments
Hello! I’m still processing all the information for my week with Freedom of Teach. I had a great time up there with Andrew Cawrse learning more about how anatomy and structure can help our sculpting become better.
Here is a quick tutorial showing you a fast way to establish the ideal head shape in Step 2 of the Skeleton Torso set.

Stay tuned to the blog for more steps on sculpting a skull and how we can make the most out of these Artist’s Busts in ZBrush.
Happy ZBrushing.

I am very excited to know about the Zbrush. Bcz this is very first time I see such type of software to create the 3d shapes in more easiest way. Because Zbrush is creating highly motivating enviornment around the world for Graphic Experts.

Hi Ryan,
Nice tutorial, and about 1-1/2 hours faster than my Freedom of Teach clay bust at this point!
In step 2, after the Reproject Higher Subdiv part, the model has a hole in the top and bottom. This problem is visible both on my model and in your video. Is there a proper method for fixing these holes, and is this a bug? Maybe I’ll have to read-up on this reprojection technique.

Lurtz, the proper way to fix it is to avoid it. I f you use the PolySphere.ztl that ships with ZBrush in the ZTL folder you won’t have that problem. I couldn’t explain why I didn’t.
