In this short video, we look at three ways you can use Topological Maskings:
- To open a mouth
- To isolate the ear
- To close the eyelids
Topological Masking is built to flow along the surface of your model’s topology. This allows you, the artist, to quickly isolate areas of your model such as fingers, limbs and whole regions like the chest area.
Topological Masking is a feature unique to ZBrush and developed by Pixologic’s own internal R&D team. We are very proud of its functionality and how easily it lends itself to other features like Transpose.

@NickZ,
You can sharpen a mask by holding ctrl+alt and clicking at the mask.
So, if you hold only ctrl, it´ll be smoothed out.
