Scott Spencer’s Holloween Boy

Scott Spencer

Scott Spencer posted a great sculpt at ZBC a few weeks ago that I wanted to highlight here to bring more attention to the practical application of digital sculpting. Its not all virtual sculpting!

This sculpt was for the October Shadows art show 2007 - celebrating Halloween in Art www.creaturefeatures.com. It is 8″ tall with a 4″ square base. It was output to a 3D printer and painted with a bronze patina.

Scott also prepared a side by side comparison of the digital sculpt and its output. Check out the image below. The images to the right are the ZBrush images.

What 3D printer technology was used? Why was that particular 3D printer technology selected for this project?

    Great work!

Tom, in the ZBC thread, Scott mentions that he used the Eden printer from Objet: http://www.2objet.com/Default.aspx.
